In a certain ideology, God places the world under the care of seven holy angels. Melek Taus, also known as the Peacock Angel, is the greatest among them, emerging from the Light of God in the form of a seven-rayed rainbow. This celestial being is associated with the color blue, symbolizing the heavens and the source of all colors.

Melek Taus's story is one of redemption and forgiveness. When instructed to bow to Adam, he refused and was cast down from heaven. However, after repenting for his sin of pride and shedding tears for 7,000 years, his tears quenched the fires of Hell. Pardoned and reinstated as the chief of the angels, Melek Taus became an emanation of God, responsible for creating the cosmos from the Cosmic Egg.

Samira Mazloom's Melek Taus collection captures the essence of this celestial being with its intricate and captivating designs. The standout piece of the collection is a pair of earrings that can be worn in two different ways. The earrings follow the natural curve of the ear, and they can be adorned with or without the Cosmic Egg attached to the back.

The production of the Melek Taus earrings presented some challenges due to their highly detailed nature. Originally planned to be made in gold, the weight calculations revealed that the pieces would be too heavy. As a result, the decision was made to use silver instead, ensuring both comfort and elegance.

Since its inception in 2011, the Melek Taus collection has been an ongoing project for Samira Mazloom and her team. The design process has been a journey of creativity and research, inspired by the belief in the seven holy angels. Melek Taus serves as the foundation for six more collections, each exploring the unique characteristics and symbolism of the archangels.

The Melek Taus collection has garnered recognition and acclaim in the design world. In 2013, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category.
